be doing:As an Operating Maintenance (Stationary) Engineer, you
will perform operating and maintenance duties in support of the
mechanical utility systems throughout the Sea-Tac International
Airport (SEA) facilities and other Port of Seattle properties.
- You will operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair boilers,
chillers, air compressors, pumps, refrigeration systems, diesel
generators, hydraulic systems, HVAC, Direct Digital Controls (DDC),
domestic water, PC Air, and other tasks related to the mechanical
systems throughout Port of Seattle facilities.
- You will perform or assist with air handler and variable air
volume (VAV) box preventive maintenance, including controlling fans
and dampers via Direct Digital Controls (DDC).
- You will provide support to the Fire Department in testing and
repairs of smoke control and fire sprinkler systems.
- You will be responsible for preventative and corrective work to
ensure proper equipment operation and reliability.Who you are:
- Experienced - You have five (5) years of Journeyman experience
in a multifaceted maintenance environment.
- Certifications/Licenses: You possess a City of Seattle Grade 3
or above Steam Engineer License, City of Seattle Refrigeration
Operator or Journeyman Mechanic Grade A or C License, and Section
608 EPA CFC Universal License. Candidates will have 12 months to
obtain a City of Seattle Grade 2 Steam Engineer License and will
then qualify for a $2.00/hour additional premium.
- Desired - We hope you have a Cross Connection Specialist (CCS)
certification, Backflow Assembly Tester (BAT) certification,
Operator In Training (OIT) certification, Indoor Air Quality (IAQ)
monitoring experience, NICET, WABO and/or Plumbing skills (and
knowledge of code), as well as, metal fabrication.

need to know:
- Driver's License - You are required to possess a valid
Washington State Driver's License in order to travel to local
project sites.
- Work Schedule - You may be required to work any and all
assigned shifts, including weekends and holidays. Shifts are
4x10.
- Work Environment - You will generally work indoors and outdoors
in all types of weather conditions. You may be exposed to areas of
high noise, various hazardous materials, work at heights and/or in
confined spaces. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is
provided.
- Washington State Residency Requirement - Employees must
establish a residence in Washington state within 30 days of their
first day of employment and must maintain a residence in Washington
State during their employment with the Port of Seattle.
- Overtime Eligible - You are eligible for overtime pay in this
role as per the L302 Collective Bargaining Agreement.
- Safety Requirements - You will be required to comply with all
work rules, safety rules, and PPE requirements.
- Security Requirements - You will pass a Transportation Security
Administration (TSA) background check, as well as a criminal
history background check with the Federal Bureau of Investigation
(FBI).
- Union Representation - This position is represented by the
International Union of Operating Engineers union, Local 302.
- Benefits/Pay - $52.80/hour = $109,824/yr Grade 3, $54.80/hour =
$113,984/yr Grade 2, with various benefits including vacation, sick
