Term Limited PositionThis general recruitment may be used to create
a pool of coaching candidates who the school may consider for
future temporary, term-limited head and assistant coaching
opportunities not already posted.

apply.The Bush School's athletic program works within the rules of
the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA) to
provide athletic opportunities and competition for students of all
gender identities. While most sports are offered separately for
boys and girls, the Athletic Department staff is committed to
working collaboratively with each participant to determine options
that best suit each student-athlete's journey.Depending on the
coaching position, a coach may work under the guidance of the
Athletics Department, a head coach, and/or a coaching staff, to
plan and execute team practices, coach all scheduled games, assist
with overseeing inventory of sports equipment and uniforms, and
drive the team to away games/team events in a school vehicle. The
reporting structure is dependent on the specific coaching position
available.While other duties may be assigned, qualified coaching
candidates will be able to manage the following key
responsibilities and tasks:
- Provide a positive, safe, challenging, and supportive
experience for participants
- Identify, develop, and apply age and developmentally
appropriate coaching methods
- Develop and implement practice plans and routines
- Communicate team and program related information to coaching
staff, athletes, and parents/guardians effectively and
promptly
- Communicate with Athletics Department staff effectively and
promptly
- Attend meetings and trainings scheduled by the Athletics
Department
- Comply with all school and league policies and
regulationsSuccessful candidates will have:
- Expert knowledge of the given sport
- Experience in interscholastic and/or club coaching
- A coaching certification preferred
- A capacity and desire to seek out and participate in ongoing
professional development
- Possess the ability and willingness to be a team player
- Have a safe driving record that meets school standards
- Be able to work and connect well with people
- Be enthusiastic to contribute, grow, and develop as a member of
the Blazers Athletics Department Team
- Have outstanding communication, organizational, and
problem-solving skills
- Be proficient in Microsoft Office and Google
applicationsAdditional Requirements:
- Have a current Adult and Children CPR, First Aid, and AED
Certification (or receive one soon after hire date)
- Meet the school's standards when completing two separate
background screeningsCompensation/Benefit Information for this
position:
- Stipend amounts for eligible temporary, term-limited coaching
positions are based on the coach attending all team events -
amounts listed below:
- Middle School Division
- Head Coach Stipend: $2,697 - $2,889
- Assistant Coach Stipend Range: $2,312 - $2,505
- Upper School Division
- Head Coach Stipend Range: $6,631 - $5,953
- Varsity Assistant Coach Stipend: $3,004
- JV Assistant Coach Stipend: $4,421
- Additional compensation available for coaches who drive their
teams to off-site practices/games.
- Coaches may have access to professional development funds
- Coaches are provided with Bush coaching gear
- Free parking at Seattle, WA campus
