Job Description:

BrainChild Bio is seeking to hire a defined-period contract Scientist specializing in targeted gene editing in pluripotent stem cells to add to our growing team. This role will drive early-stage development of BrainChild's next generation cell therapy products. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience designing and executing gene editing strategies in iPSC or HPSC using CRISPR, TALEN, and other common gene editing tools. The ideal candidate has experience building experimental flows to efficiently screen and optimize editing, with experience leveraging basic laboratory automation a plus. Additional preferred experience is the culture and differentiation of iPSCs post editing. Proficient use of lab e-notebook experience and report writing is essential. The candidate will play a critical role in the development of BrainChild's technology platforms as we seek to develop our allogeneic cell therapy program. As a key team member in the development of our products, the candidate will deliver subject matter expertise and project input to cross functional teams as we build toward future milestones.Responsibilities:

  • Drive the development of iPSC gene editing processes in collaboration with key stakeholders
  • Drive the development of workflows to increase throughput on gene editing experimentation
  • Lead interactions with external partners collaborating on allogeneic platform
  • Intensively document and record experimental designs, protocols, and data
  • Present data regularly to senior and executive leadershipQualifications:
  • Ph.D with strong laboratory experience with iPSC gene editing or 1-2 years of industry experience in this field
  • Confidence in communication with internal and external teams
  • Proficiency with life science data analysis tools, report writing, and experience communicating technical messages to cross-functional teams
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time to partner/collaborator sites and conferencesSalary: $10,000 - $13,000 a month
