JOB SUMMARY:
The Principal Design Engineer will be responsible for overseeing
the design and optimization of critical hospital infrastructure.
This role involves leading the design review of proposed projects,
providing technical guidance, and collaborating with clients to
deliver cost-effective and sustainable critical infrastructure
designs for acute care healthcare facilities. The principal design
engineer will ensure that proposed designs meet the stringent
requirements of hospital environments, including infection control,
air quality, and reliability. Opine on the efficacy of design.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead and oversee the design of critical infrastructure, such as
central plans, for acute care hospitals.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements
- Act as an owner's representative optimizing designs to maximize
energy efficiency and minimizing costs.
- Assist in contractor selection.
- Conduct detailed analysis and calculations to ensure system
performance meets client requirements.
- Collaborate with client stakeholders to understand their needs
and provide tailored solutions.
- Helps to develop and maintain schedules, budgets, and
resources.
- Review design plans, specifications, and project
documentation.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and
design teams.
- Opine of probable cost, provide input on the accuracy of proposed
budgets created by 3rd parties, ensure resources are allocated
effectively.
- Conduct site visits and inspections as needed.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and
best practices.
- Ensure effective implementation of the Quality, Environmental,
and Health & Safety Management System
- Such other duties and responsibilities as may be reasonably
requested.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related
field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years experience in HVAC design and
engineering.
- Solid understanding of HVAC systems, components, and design
principles.
- Strong knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS)
- Healthcare industry experience strongly preferred.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong project management and leadership abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Dedication to continuous learning and professional
development.
CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine
compensation, including a candidate's education, training, and
experience. The minimum salary for the Design Engineer Principle
position is $133,500.00 annually and the maximum salary for the
Design Engineer Principle position is $180,000.00 annually. The
compensation offered to a successful candidate will depend on their
skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates will
also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE's
applicable benefit program. This role will provide the following
benefits: 401(K), Dental insurance, Health insurance, Life
insurance, and Vision insurance.
