Vice President of Crowley Engineering Services (CES) is responsible
for developing and leading a dynamic strategic vision ensuring the
design and execution of projects and services to both internal and
external clients. As a premier maritime firm, Crowley is dedicated

across the industry and is committed to excellence in engineering,
delivering top-tier services to our clients across multiple
sectors. As a key leader in the Shipping organization, the VP,
Engineering, plays an instrumental role in the overall success of
Crowley.GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Strategic Planning:
- Develop and implement a strategic plan to achieve Crowley's
long-term goals and objectives, ensuring performance for optimal
efficiency, to serve both internal and external partners.
- Broaden business offerings by identifying, evaluating, and
capturing new business opportunities that support diversification
and integration for organic and inorganic growth.
- Clearly communicate an achievable vision for the Company to
customers, industry partners and employees, building on the
company's leading reputation for safety and commitment to
technology.Leadership and Management:
- Lead, develop and mentor a team of engineers and project
managers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation,
customer service and continuous improvement.
- Provide oversight and ensure the successful execution of
engineering projects, maintaining a high standard of quality,
safety and efficiency.
- Foster an environment which stimulates open communication,
creativity, imagination that enables a collaborative team spirit in
solving problems, diversifying, and expanding the business.
- Manage all strategic and day-to-day commercial and operational
aspects of the business with an emphasis on contract execution, and
strategic business development.
- Personally champion a strong safety culture and
mindset.Business Development:
- Develop a commercial sales strategy that leverages the
experience of the company, while driving innovative solutions for
our clients.
- Work collaboratively with marketing to enhance brand awareness
and drive demand.
- Anticipate business needs to optimize commercial opportunities
drive business growth.Client Relations:
- Develop strong internal and external relationships with clients
and partners, understanding their needs, delivering optimal
solutions, and striving for overall customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with the Company leadership to develop and meet
organizational goals while supplying expertise and guidance on
projects, operations, and systems.
- Actively participate in the development of key critical
solutions for clients, ensuring due diligence for potential
opportunities demonstrating accountability for operational and
financial success.Fiscal Responsibility:
- Oversee the overall budget and expenses for CES.
- Ensure all engineering activities are compliant with applicable
regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Demonstrate accountability for the financial results of CES,
proactively managing and planning resources for operational
success.Technical Expertise:
- Stay current with industry requirements, trends, and
advancements.
- Integrate new technologies and methodologies into the CES
practices.
- Provide guidance and recommendations on critical solutions to
drive operational excellence.
- Ensure all engineering activities are compliant with applicable
regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Oversee the validation of the design and engineering of new
models through prototype construction and endurance testing.
- Actively liaise across the full spectrum of the shipping
industry to personally serve as the senior-most ambassador to
customers, industry partners, and all levels across government
officials.QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master's degree in engineering preferred. A minimum of
bachelor's degree in engineering with maritime management,
shipping, and/or related course work required.
- 15+ years of progressive experience in various marine
engineering leadership positions.
- Proven experience leading accelerated growth in a commercial
engineering organization.
- Experience simultaneously leading operations with an internal
and external professional services focus required.TECHNICAL
PROFICIENCY: Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including
Excel, Word and Outlook.COMPETENCIES: Ability to communicate
effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to establish and
maintain effective working relationships. Ability to prioritize,
organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously while
meeting assigned deadlines. Ability to effectively manage projects
that may vary in nature and scope. Ability to evaluate process
effectiveness and develop change or alternatives. Ability to review
project work, quantities, costs, accuracy of specifications,
completeness, and constructability. Ability to interpret
architectural/engineering drawings, specifications, codes,
standards, and regulatory requirements. Ability to effectively
manage projects that may vary in nature and scope. Ability to
indirectly mentor, coach, train and/or supervise employees.
Knowledge of the concept, principles and practices of management.
Knowledge of and ability to utilize design techniques, tools, and
principles involved in the production of precision technical plans,
blueprints, drawings, and models. Knowledge of principles,
practices and concepts of project management.JOB SCOPE: Position
impacts multiple business units/segments.WORKING CONDITIONS: Works
both inside an office environment and outside in conditions of both
high and low temperatures. May be exposed to odors, dust, dirt,
mechanical hazards, high noise levels and potentially dangerous
equipment. Must be able to crouch and stoop to get into areas with
restricted headroom and be able to climb ladders. May require
extended use of computer keyboard and viewing of computer monitor
and ability to sit for long periods of time.Position Location -
Seattle/HybridSalary Range - 229,000 thru 336,000*Pay is determined
by work location and additional factors, including job-related
skills, experience, and relevant education or training.Primary
