Division of Plastic Surgery in the Department of Surgery at the
University of Washington, School of Medicine is accepting
applications and nominations for one full-time faculty position at
University of Washington Medical Center. The faculty position is at
the rank of Assistant Professor without tenure by reason of funding
(WOT) or Associate Professor WOT. Assistant Professors are eligible
for multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service
period (July 1-June 30). Associate professors WOT hold indefinite
appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June
30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months
of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the
equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. This
position will have an anticipated start date in Summer/Fall
2025.This position would include the broad spectrum of plastic
surgery, including microsurgical breast reconstruction, lymphedema
surgery, sarcoma reconstruction, and facial nerve reanimation. The
position will be primarily based at the University of Washington
Medical Center (UWMC) - Montlake Campus, with UWMC - Northwest
Campus as the secondary site of practice. There are also leadership
opportunities to grow and expand the existing lymphedema surgery
program.In addition to clinical practice, the position will
participate in the education of surgical residents, medical
students, and division fellows. The position will be expected to
develop an area of scholarly expertise, as expected of every
faculty member, in consultation with the Division and Section
Chiefs. The University of Washington Medical Center is a nationally
recognized academic medical center offering outstanding specialty
and primary care. All University of Washington faculty engage in
teaching, research, and service.At the rank of Assistant Professor
(WOT) the base salary for this position will be $30,834-$34,167 per
month ($370,008-$410,004 per year). At the rank of Associate
Professor (WOT) the base salary range for this position will be
$36,667-$41,667 per month ($440,004-$500,004 per year). Base
salaries at all ranks will be commensurate with candidate
experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department
of Labor prevailing wage determination. This range is inclusive of
base salary provided through the University of Washington
Physicians (UWP) practice plan, in addition to base salary provided
by the University. Other compensation associated with this position
includes clinical productivity incentives through UWP. Please note
that only compensation provided by the University is included in
university benefit determinations and calculations. Compensation
provided by UWP practice plan may provide eligibility for separate
benefits offered by that organization.Prospective candidates must
have an MD (or foreign equivalent) and be certified or eligible for
certification by the American Board of Plastic Surgery (or foreign
equivalent). Must be eligible for medical licensure in state of
Washington. In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for
an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must
show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical
Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the
Secretary of Health and Human Services.Application
