generative AI to revolutionize gene therapy - from gene editing and

looking for an exceptional technical architect who's equally
comfortable designing high-level systems and rolling up their
sleeves to write code. As part of our Engineering team, you'll help
design and implement our biotech data ecosystem while collaborating
closely with experimentalists and data scientists, as well as
software, machine learning, and cloud engineers. This unique role
combines strategic planning with hands-on development to build and
maintain the automated, end-to-end data pipelines and services that
power our best-in-class AI/ML and analysis capabilities. Whether
your background is in information systems, software engineering, or
bioinformatics, if you're passionate about building robust data

You'll Do
- Design and implement the data architecture that will form the
foundation of our biotech data ecosystem, including standardized
pipelines for scientific datasets.
- Develop automated ETL pipelines to handle complex scientific
data from sequencing experiments, imaging instruments,
manufacturing workflows, and electronic lab notebooks.
- Partner with our experimental, computational, and machine
learning teams to create data storage solutions that accelerate
scientific discovery.
- Architect and implement intelligent data lifecycle management,
including automated archiving workflows.
- Maintain detailed technical documentation for pipelines,
models, and processes to ensure reproducibility and knowledge
sharing.
- Help establish data governance frameworks that enable team-wide
collaboration.
- Contribute to data modeling initiatives and establish metadata
standards to ensure our data assets are FAIR.
- Work cross-functionally to ensure our data solutions comply
with security and compliance requirements.What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science,
Data Science or related field (Advanced degrees are a plus).
- 5+ years of experience building and implementing data systems,
with exposure to scientific or biotech domains preferred.
- Extensive experience with relational and non-relational
databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, etc.).
- Proficiency in Python and modern data engineering tools.
- An ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with
scientific teams.
- Experience with or exposure to:
- Cloud platforms (AWS) and data infrastructure.
- Scientific platforms (e.g., Benchling).
- Enterprise data warehousing (e.g., Redshift, Snowflake,
Databricks).
- Modern data orchestration and pipeline tools (e.g. Apache
Airflow, Prefect, etc.).
- Scientific data standards (ADF, UDM).
- Data visualization and analytics.Shape TX offers a robust

Voluntary FSA's.The salary range for a Data Engineer is
$120,000-$165,000. The hired applicant's placement within the range
is based on qualifications and professional experience. Additional
compensation may include an annual target bonus and/or sign-on
bonus, equity grant and relocation bonus.This is an in-person or
