Earth.This role is part of the Lunar Transportation business unit,
which develops Blue Origin's multiple Blue Moon lander product
lines (Link: ). To further Blue Origin's mission of having millions
of people living and working in space, we are building sustainable
infrastructure for the transport of crew and cargo from Earth to

towards safe and repeatable space flight.As a Mk1 Flight Software
Manager on Lunar Transportation, you will report to the Mk1 Flight
Software Senior Manager and directly support the development of
Flight Software development for the Mk1 Lunar Lander. This position
will support all aspects of product team management to include
accountability and oversight of cost, schedule, technical design,
risk management and personnel management.Responsibilities:
- Responsible and accountable for directing software developers
to deliver flight software products that meet mission objectives
and satisfy requirements while balancing cost, schedule, and
risk.
- Mentor employees' professional and software development
skills.
- Recruit, hire, manage, and mentor a diverse, equitable, and
inclusive team.
- Manage your direct reports' professional development (e.g.,
performance reviews, compensation and promotion management, routine
one-on-one development conversations) and coach them on
performance.
- Develop robust plans meeting deliverables and manage to the key
operating metrics - including technical, cost, schedule, and risk -
reporting regularly to management and the team on progress.
- Perform technical work and provide technical leadership of the
highest caliber.
- Monitor technical progress, requirements, budget, schedule,
deliverables, and risks as well as review recommendations for
change with program management.
- Utilize good engineering and business judgement to ensure the
most efficient and effective product is designed, tested, and
delivered.
- Develop product roadmaps, working with internal and external
customers to understand how your product integrates to meet current
and future mission needs.
- Work independently towardlong-range objectives without
appreciable direction and determine the technical objectives of
assignments to develop approaches to solutions.
- Embody, promote, and coach the Blue Origin leadership

Qualifications:
- Minimum of a B.S. degree in computer engineering, computer
science, electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, or another
related field.
- 5+ years managing software teams and/or leading functional
groups with responsibility for leading and coaching employees.
- Strong software development skills
- Proficiency in C++
- Proficiency in Git
- Familiarity with Agile Software Development
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional
relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident
(current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as
a refugee or granted asylum.Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with human rated space vehicle flight software
development and verification.
- Experience with DO-178C software development or safety critical
applications.
- Experience with critical path scheduling, IMP/IMS, risk
management, requirements management and Cost Account Management
such as EVM.
- Experience with verification, integration, and test, of orbital
launch vehicles or human rated spacecraft.
- Experience with Jira.Compensation Range for:WA applicants is
$151,650.00-$212,310.00Other site ranges may differApplications
