This role is a Hybrid in-office position in either Bellevue, WA or
Overland Park, KS.
This attorney, working in the Legal Affairs Department, will
represent T-Mobile and provide counsel to business units and Human
Resources on employment and labor-related legal matters as
assigned; prepare and review legal documents including pleadings,
briefs, position statements and other filings.What you'll do in
your role.
- Provide practical, day-to-day, employment-law and counseling to
HR and other internal clients to identify and manage labor and
employment legal risks.
- Act as subject matter expert for specialty areas including
discrimination, harassment, retaliation, ADA, and FMLA and other
leaves.
- Engage and work with outside counsel to manage employment
litigation and administrative proceedings with a focus on creative
strategies, cost reduction, and efficient resolutions.
- Prepare responses to agency charges and demand letters.
- Develop and review written HR policies, guidelines, templates,
and forms.
- Develop and deliver legal training to HR and other internal
clients.
- Provide employment law advice regarding and directing internal
investigations.
- Advise and help clients understand employment law related
compliance issues.
- Counsel and advise clients on a wide variety of complex and
developing employment-related legal and business issues.The
experience you'll bring.
- 4+ years of experience as an employment attorney, with relevant
in-house and/or top law firm experience
- Minimum 4 years, prefer 6+ years, of experience handling
litigation involving discrimination, retaliation, harassment, and
other employment-related claims.
- Ability to work independently and effectively despite ambiguity
and rapid change.
- Excellent writing skills, with a focus on providing practical
advice.
- Amazing oral communication skills, with a focus on clearly and
simply conveying complex employment law concepts, risks, and
options to HR and other internal clients.
- Strong judgement that allows you to properly weigh what's best
for our customers and our business, what's best for our employees,
and potential legal risks
- Strong project management skills
- A demonstrated ability to collaborate with other legal and
business professionals in a complex organization with a focus on
delivering results efficiently.
- A keen business sense with strong judgment, negotiation,
drafting, and decision-making skills
- Ability to work efficiently, meet demanding deadlines, and
balance multiple, and sometimes competing, priorities.
- A good sense of humor, a calm demeanor, and a drama-free
approach
- Must be licensed, in good standing, to practice law in the US.

United StatesWashington Pay Range : $160,100.00 - $216,600.00The
pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful
candidate in the state listed. The successful candidate's actual
pay will be based on various factors, such as work location,
qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay may be
above or below this range. At T-Mobile, employees in regular,
non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic
sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate
employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or
individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the
employee's eligible earnings in the prior year. Certain positions
in Customer Care are eligible for monthly bonuses based on
individual and/or team performance, while Retail and Business Sales
roles are eligible for monthly or quarterly sales incentives. And
