to our customers in both the US and Canada. We serve clients
through e-commerce, wholesale and retail channels. Our retail
locations are growing, and we are expanding to the Seattle
area!Mountain Rose Herbs is seeking a full-time Store Manager to
join our team! This position will plan and lead the daily
operations of Mountain Rose Herbs' retail store in downtown
Seattle, with a focus on profitability and ensuring excellent
customer service. The Store Manager must develop a keen
understanding of MRH's culture and promote our core principles of
supporting organic agriculture, sustainability, and herbal
education to community partners and the staff members they
oversee.This is a full-time position. Hours may vary from week to
week and may include nights, holidays, and weekends.Some of the Key
Responsibilities of the Store Manager:
- Follow all MRH procedures, policies, and protocols. Report any
health, safety, or equipment issues to appropriate personnel.
- Follow and enforce rules laid out not only in the Employee
Handbook but also any/all applicable rules, regulations and
guidelines for employee privacy, confidentiality, etc.
- Ensure employees are thoroughly trained in all procedures,
including creating and updating training manuals for store
operations and safety trainings. Correct staff errors and problems
in a calm and efficient manner.
- Direct daily workflow to ensure all work is completed correctly
and efficiently.
- Develop and manage the schedule, resolve issues of staffing
coverage, fill in when necessary.
- Manage and monitor time clock, approve, or otherwise resolve
any time off requests.
- Play an active role in any employee evaluations or disciplines
along with the EVP and HR.
- Maintain an excellent customer experience through interactions
with customers and store presentation to maintain a welcoming
atmosphere.
- Manage store inventory and make note of inventory discrepancies
then coordinate this information with claims and returns at
HQ.
- Supervise product pricing, oversee returns, restocks and
damaged products.
- Sales and orders: Manage POS system, oversee both the ordering
and checking in of deliveries to include office supplies and other
needs for the store.
- Demonstrate basic accounting procedures: Closing procedures,
run sales reports, balance books, cash management to include both
petty cash, cash drops and regular bank runs.
- Maintain store cleanliness to provide a safe and clean
environment for staff and customers.
- Handle customer complaints, questions, and issues in a
respectful and professional manner.
- Update displays and merchandising to ensure that promotions and
merchandising, for both daily maintenance, seasonal and sales
promotions are accurate and consistent with company's
standards.
- Provide theft control and de-escalation training and
enforcement as set by the EVP.
- Report buying trends, customer requests, and all feedback and
ideas back to the EVP.
- Remain up to date on all products, including new products and
product changes.
- Willingness to learn and perform new procedures, equipment, and
technologies.
- Other duties as assigned.What the successful Store Manager will
have:
- Dependability - consistently at work and on time, follow
instructions, and respond to management feedback.
- Proactivity - continue to develop skills, gain additional
knowledge, and solicit feedback for improved performance.
- 5+ years of previous retail store management experience
preferred.
- Possess herbal knowledge as well as a willingness to learn
more.
- Possess a valid Driver's License.
- Ability to travel on occasion.
- Ability to sit or stand for periods of time while on the sales
floor and stock room, performing data entry duties, on the phone,
etc.
- Ability to assist with helping load orders for customers, this
may include lifting and carrying of heavy materials.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.Compensation:
- $28.64 - $44.52 per hour, DOE
