The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) plays a key role in providing
high-quality patient care by assisting with clinical and
administrative responsibilities within the scope of an LPN license.
This role is responsible for patient intake, preparing exam rooms,
assisting with clinical procedures, and ensuring smooth patient
flow throughout the visit. The LPN also supports patient check-in
and check-out processes, assists with scheduling follow-ups, and
provides exceptional service to patients and their families. This
role is located at our Ballard clinic in Seattle, WA.
Kinwell offers a $5,000 sign on bonus for external applicants and
eligible rehires for this position.
What you'll do:
Greet patients and prepare them for physical examinations,
including obtaining vital signs, weight, height, reviewing
medications and medical history, allergies, and performing all
ancillary tests required.
Assist clinicians with examinations, treatments, and procedures
within the LPN scope of practice.
Administer immunizations and medications as directed by the
provider and in accordance with state regulations.
Perform point-of-care and ancillary testing as ordered by the
clinician.
Operate and maintain autoclave machines and other clinical
equipment, ensuring compliance with policies and regulatory
requirements.
Dispense medications and medical appliances, and apply bandages,
dressings, and splints as directed.
Maintain lab supplies, equipment, and ensure compliance with CLIA
requirements, including record-keeping and quality assurance.
Ensure patient exam rooms and waiting areas are clean,
well-stocked, and properly maintained.
Assist in scheduling follow-up appointments and coordinating
patient care needs.
Accurately document patient interactions, treatments, and
procedures in the electronic health record (EHR)
Perform other duties as assigned within the LPN scope of
practice.
What you'll bring:
Current Washington State Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
license.
One year of experience as an LPN in a physician's office or similar
clinical setting.
Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Certification from
American Heart Association (AHA), Red Cross, or Military Training
Network (MTN) or willingness to obtain within 6-months of hire.
Ability to problem-solve and adapt to changing patient needs.
Independent decision-making skills and ability to resolve issues in
collaboration with the healthcare team.
Ability to perform phlebotomy, point of care testing, wound care,
suture removal, medication administration and patient triage.
Understands the principles of collecting and documenting relevant
patient history, symptoms, and demographic data to support clinical
decision making.
Familiar with medical terminology, electronic health records
systems and documentation standards to ensure accuracy and
compliance.
Knowledge of preventative care strategies, chronic disease
management and quality metrics such as HEDIS, PCMH, or other
applicable population health initiatives.
Understands the roles and responsibilities within a
multidisciplinary care team and how to coordinate effectively to
optimize patient outcomes.
Knowledge of patient engagement techniques, customer service best
practices, and methods to enhance the overall patient
experience.
Experience in a primary care, urgent care, or outpatient clinical
setting. (Preferred)
Proficiency in using EPIC or other electronic health record (EHR)
systems. (Preferred)
This role qualifies for +7.5% pay differential for employees
assigned to a home location in a qualifying Kinwell Clinic, which
is currently our Ballard, Denny Way, and Westlake clinics.
Working Environment
- Work is performed within a clinical setting with frequent patient
interactions.
- Standard office conditions with frequent use of computer, phone
and medical record systems.
Physical Requirements
The following have been identified as essential physical
requirements of this job and must be performed with or without
accommodation:
- Ability to stand for long periods and move freely within the
clinic setting.
- Ability to exert up to 25 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a
negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull,
or otherwise move objects.
- Ability to keyboard and to communicate clearly and understandably
in person, and over the telephone.

The pay for this role will vary based on a range of factors
including, but not limited to, a candidate's geographic location,
market conditions, and specific skills and experience.
National Plus Salary Range:
$60,300.00 - $96,500.00
*National Plus salary range is used in higher cost of labor markets
including Western Washington and Alaska.
