Cargo RM Inventory Manager is the sole subject matter expert for
all revenue management (RM) activities for Alaska Air Cargo. As an
individual contributor, this role defines long term strategies for
the development and implementation of comprehensive capacity
management and inventory control that maximize revenue for a
blended fleet of freighter, wide-body, narrow-body, and regional
aircraft. This role exercises considerable latitude and initiative
to solve problems related to process improvements and maintains
best practices for all cargo revenue management activities. Key
Duties:
- As the lead subject matter expert develop and implement
comprehensive capacity management and inventory control strategies
designed to maximize cargo revenue.
- Leverage and implement advanced data analytics tools to track
and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to yield,
load factor, market share, and profit margin.
- Analyze market trends, demand patterns, economic indicators,
and historical data to forecast future needs and identify revenue
opportunities.
- Collaborate closely with pricing, sales, alliances, postal
affairs, and operations teams to align revenue management
initiatives with overall business goals.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, economic
factors, and regulatory changes affecting air cargo and the broader
supply chain.
- Partner cross-divisionally with passenger revenue management to
generate new strategies and collaborate on revenue
optimization.
- Drive continuous strategy and process improvements and maintain
best practice documentation for training and future use.
- Influence across company and several levels up to launch and
implement cargo RM process. Job-Specific Experience, Education &
Skills: Required
- Minimum of 7 years of revenue management, pricing, capacity
planning, or related experience.
- A Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree, with a focus
in mathematics, economics, business administration, IT, or related
discipline or an additional two years of relevant training or
experience in lieu of this degree.
- In-depth understanding of inventory and capacity management
principles and revenue optimization strategies.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize,
analyze, interpret and disseminate information with attention to
detail and accuracy.
- Demonstrated expertise with analytical mining and reporting
tools which may include but not limited to Excel, Tableau, Alteryx,
SQL.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with diverse
audiences, including both technical and non-technical customers,
colleagues and executives.
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects
simultaneously.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum age of 18.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Preferred
- 5 years of airline industry experience.
- Experience with revenue management systems and software.
- Advanced proficiency in statistical analysis and forecasting
techniques.
- In-depth knowledge of the air cargo industry and its market

Salary Details: Pay will be based on multiple factors, including
and not limited to location, relevant experience/level and skillset
while balancing internal equity relative to other Alaska/Horizon
employees. Alaska/Horizon is committed to fair, unbiased
