Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and organized Communications Program Manager to serve our corporate client on the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) team. This position will support the Global EHS Operations function for the health and safety of all employees in corporate sites around the world.
This is a VIRTUAL position that will require work hours supporting both a global team and a reporting manager located in the Pacific Time Zone. The salary range for this role is $75-$80K annually.
The successful candidate will be an experienced, innovative, hands-on, and customer-obsessed individual, passionate about communications and EHS. The successful candidate will report to our client's Global EHS Operations Manager; be able to identify, coordinate, and drive improvements by engaging stakeholders; and work strategically within the knowledge management sphere to control various programmatic needs and organizational objectives.
The Communications Program Manager will be responsible for EHS communications and engagement programs using efficient process documentation, stakeholder engagement, and project planning to deliver key EHS operational objectives to reduce risk and build a better EHS culture.
The Communications Program Manager must be an effective communicator and send clear, concise, and consistent messages--both verbally and in writing. The successful candidate will work to identify best practices and incorporate these methodologies into the team's standards to continuously improve the EHS landscape. The Communications Program Manager should possess EHS program knowledge and be able to demonstrate this expertise. The role will also support the Learning and Development, and Document Management programs by building synergies and strategic delivery when needed.
Responsibilities:


  • Oversee global EHS communications and engagement program management through efficient process documentation, stakeholder engagement, and project planning to deliver key operational objectives to reduce risk and build an EHS culture.
  • Support management of the EHS Learning and Development program through instructional design of training modules and supporting program management to reduce risks through education and awareness.
  • Facilitate EHS document management and recordkeeping through document reviews, administer document control processes, and provide support on templating, formatting, and other documentation-related issues.
  • Ensure adequate tools and resources are identified, utilized, and used to "Invent and Simplify" programmatic delivery of Global EHS Operations objectives.
  • Liaise with cross-functional teams and leverage learning to build scalable solutions.
  • Create and execute operational project plans, resource allocation, deadlines, risk analysis, communicate challenges or barriers, and translate them into actionable plans.
  • Assess and recommend solutions when faced with competing deadlines/deliverables or shifting priorities to ensure objectives are met.
  • Incorporate change management into project execution approaches to reduce change impact and fatigue.
  • Ensure consistent updates to project plan milestones and deliverables, and execute project status reports and launch communication to internal teams.
  • Manage the design, creation, maintenance, and monitoring of playbooks, process flows, and standard operating procedures (SOP), ensuring continuous process improvements.
  • Identify and utilize appropriate data and metrics to manage performance monitoring and track programmatic success.
  • Manage, train, and supervise direct reports when needed.
  • Assist with other related tasks as assigned.

    Basic competencies:

    • 3+ years of program or project management experience.
    • 3+ years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics experience.
    • Experience working cross-functionally with technical and non-technical teams.
    • Ability to perform many concurrent assignments and determine the need for changing priorities.
    • Experience with MS Suite, SharePoint, Smartsheet, and other communication applications such as Slack and FirstUp.
    • Strong experience with professional writing, copy editing, and design.

      Preferred competencies:

      • 3+ years of driving end-to-end delivery and communicating results to senior leadership experience.
      • 3+ years of driving process improvement experience.
      • Experience in stakeholder management and dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization.
      • Experience building processes, project management, and schedules.
      • Experience in requirement gathering, and the ability to write clear and detailed requirement documents.
      • Exceptional organizational, influencing, and leadership skills.
      • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills providing appropriate customer support and interaction.
      • Speaking-listening-writing skills, attention to detail, and a proactive self-starter.
      • Proven ability to work in a dynamic, ambiguous environment.
